Background Information:

I have enjoyed teaching Primary aged children for 6 years, 4 of those years, within Witham St Hughs Academy. I have taught children from Nursery to Year 6, specialising in Key Stage 1. Within my time at Witham St Hughs Academy I have had the opportunity to continue my professional development through middle leadership roles.

Alongside being able to offer support with class strategies, behaviour management techniques, teaching and learning, differentiation and NQT coaching, I have gained the National Accreditation in PSHE. After completing the course, I devised a very successful Growing and Relationships with Sex Education program across Year 1 to 6. I can offer schools, staff training, parental talks, materials, diverse relationship sessions, lesson samples and more. I have coordinated both PSHE and RE with collective worship for 4 years. I am able to offer schools the support in developing the RE and collective worship curriculum, alongside links to places of worship, visitors and a two year rolling program for assemblies. The assembly program takes into account the new curriculum for British moral values, PSHE links, philosophical thinking, diverse relationships and religious links.

I have been the Special Educational Needs co-ordinator since September 2014 and currently undertaking the National Accreditation for SENCO’s. Within this role I can offer support with target setting, review meetings, parental information, data tracking and staff meeting inputs.

Through teaching Year 1 for 5 years, I have had huge success with the teaching of early literacy and phonics. The children within my classes have all passed the phonics screen with 100% pass rate. I can offer support with screening for phonics, phonics intervention ideas, intensive intervention sessions, parent talks, staff training and lesson samples. I can also offer support with early reading and writing.

I have taken on the role of Specialist Leader of Education because I enjoy working alongside others. I thrive in supporting children, parents and educators, taking staff meetings, sharing ideas and developments with others and raising the standards of education. I feel that I can offer support to individuals or schools in a personalised manor. I will look forward to meeting you!
